Ugali for Dogs

This blog is about my internship with the Foundation for Sustainable Development in Kakamega, Kenya in the summer of 2009 (June-September).

The title of this blog, Ugali for Dogs, comes from a conversation I had with my host mother about learning to cook ugali. I told her I wanted to learn to make the popular Kenyan dish so I could prepare it for the family one evening. Mama exclaimed, all while laughing, “You can make ugali for the dogs. If they eat it then we will too!”
